Lao Max Wellsteed

Mekong Theravada
These photographs present a region in transition. My project addresses tensions between tourism and tradition, western values and Buddhist teachings. I’ve used the Mekong as a motif for the rapid flows of social change descending through northern Laos and Cambodia.
