Over the last twenty years, the earthly remains of Saint Thérèse of Lisieux have toured the globe. Catholics living in more than 40 countries around the world have flocked to venerate them. Two million pilgrims came to see the relics when they toured Ireland, while their visit to New York stopped traffic on Fifth Avenue for hours. This project looks at what happened when the relics came to the UK in 2009, at a very British response to one of the most ancient of Catholic traditions and
at what it means to be a pilgrim in the 21st Century.
Duncan Robertson is 34 and lives in London. Before taking up photography fulltime, he worked as a journalist in education and politics.
