My project is about Tsang, an 83-year-old man I met who designs spaceships. Inspired by a news’ picture of HMS Ark Royal, Tsang began his journey of spaceship design while living alone in North London. He lives in dual realities: a reality that contains him and a reality that he imagines and out-reaches. I’ve presented my own journey into Tsang’s odyssey as 28 photographic images along with 62 scanned images, composed of sketches, plans, contracts and writing. By juxtaposing reality with the world of imagination and displaying the archival, scanned and photographic elements of Tsang’s odyssey, I hope to reveal a portrait of himself and the landscape of his worlds.
