Harry Dutton

An east-end dynasty
In a city that has an ever-changing cultural identity, the Pearlies represent a tradition that has been part of London life since Victorian times. Their work for charity and their roles as community leaders still plays a vital role in society. My project explores the inheritance of identity and the value of community.

Harry Dutton is a London based, freelance documentary photographer also working as a commercial portrait photographer. Harry photographs the everyday, ordinary subjects and objects that often go unnoticed or have been forgotten. His attraction to people has led to a focus on portraiture, although he is in interested in any subject that evokes a sense of tradition or community in contemporary society today.
