Ian Buswell

Silence accross the Salween
Eastern Burma rarely makes the news in the western media, but it is home to the longest civil war in the world. In Thailand there are hundreds of thousands of refugees and in Burma there are even more. This work looks at the lives of the Karen people, an ethnic minority from Burma. I was drawn to the fragile existence of life on the run, their optimism and hope and the persistence of their fight for control of their homeland.
